Lemongrass plants

This listing is for a single growth division of my lemongrass mother plant. This plant is very well rooted and ready to go.

Lemongrass is a very common ingredient in many Asian cuisines. I use it, myself, for soups, some self-invented baked goods, and the occasional tea, and it is very, very tasty! To use, you divide it and take a couple of stalks, trim them down, and smash the base of the stems. You can also slice it up, if you're not feeling the urge to work out some frustration. :)

Lemongrass is a tropical plant and is only hardy to about zn 9. After dividing my 'mother' plant and cutting back the foliage, I bring in a small division to overwinter indoors. It doesn't get much light or water during this time, and starts growing like crazy when it's put outside the following spring.

The larger plants pictured above came from 1 growth divisions last winter and now have 20+ growths each. The leaves reach about 4.5-5 feet tall during the summer and quickly form a large plant.

This is a very easy, attractive plant and will grow for most people -- even those of you with brown or black thumbs!

This plant will be shipped bare root. Foliage will also be cut back to reduce shipping trauma.
